Vehicle wrap cost calculator: price a car, van, ute or trailer wrap
Updated
This is a live wrap calculator, the same one a sign business puts on its own website with SwiftSignQuote. Pick the vehicle, then how much of it to cover, from door logos up to a full wrap, and the price comes back in seconds. As a guide, a full printed business wrap costs about AUD 3,500-11,500 ex GST for cars, utes and vans, or USD 5,000-8,500 installed. Trucks and buses cost more.

Run a sign or print business that wraps vehicles? This is your customer's side of the funnel. They pick their vehicle and see the difference between door logos, a half wrap and a full wrap, with a price on each, before they ever pick up the phone.
Most wrap enquiries fit the calculator. The last 20% or so, a lifted 4WD, an old wrap to strip, a full custom design, still call you, and they call already knowing roughly what it costs. The price is close, not perfect, and that is the point: it gets the customer from “how much?” to a deposit while they are still keen. We would rather you win the job than lose it arguing over the last $100.

Key takeaways

How much does it cost to wrap a car, van or truck?
A full wrap is priced by vehicle, not by the square foot. Bigger, more shaped vehicles take more hours.
A printed business wrap runs about USD 5,000-8,500 installed, lower on compact cars and higher on SUVs and cargo vans. No published USD range splits it by vehicle.

What changes the price of a wrap?
- Coverage. Full, partial, roof or hood.
- Film. Printed graphics on cast film with a laminate are the standard for business wraps. Colour change film comes in gloss, satin, matte, textured, colour-shift and chrome. Matte and textured add about USD 200-600; colour-shift and chrome add about USD 600-3,000.
- Design. Print-ready artwork sits at the bottom of the range. A full custom design takes 4-12 hours and sits at the top.
- Removal. Old graphics come off before new ones go on. Budget about USD 500-2,000, or 2-16 hours of labour depending on age and sun damage.
- Shape. Recesses, handles and mirrors add install hours a square-foot rate never sees.
How much is a partial, roof or hood wrap?
A partial printed wrap covering 30-60% of a car or small van runs about AUD 1,800-4,500, and AUD 2,500-5,500 on an SUV or larger van. In USD, printed coverage on a tailgate, a hood or both front doors runs about 1,000-2,000. A colour change on the hood alone is about USD 300-600, and on the roof alone about USD 250-500.
Is it cheaper to wrap or paint a car?
Usually. A quality respray runs about USD 5,000-15,000, against USD 2,500-6,500 for a colour change wrap on most cars. A wrap also comes off when you sell or rebrand. A budget respray can cost less, but it is not the same finish.
How do wrap shops work out a price?
A careful shop costs the film, laminate, print time, design, prep, install hours and any removal, then adds overhead and margin. Shops everywhere price from the same drivers; local labour rates change the number.
Many shops still price wraps by hand, and the method moves the number. In our worked example on a HiAce long-wheelbase van, a flat rate per square metre came in about AUD 1,080 under the same wrap costed line by line. Our vehicle wrap pricing guide shows how a shop builds a wrap price from its real costs.
Can a sign business put a wrap calculator on its own website?
Yes. Buyers want a number before they talk to anyone. If your website makes them wait, the next business with a price gets the call.
With SwiftSignQuote, your customers get instant quotes on your own website. They pick the vehicle, coverage and film and the price moves as they change it. They upload artwork, then pay or send it through as a quote, and the order lands on the board your team already watches. The price tables behind it are calibrated for you during onboarding, and they are yours to adjust after go-live. Replace your production system with SwiftSignQuote, or keep it: the bridge into it is calibrated for you during onboarding. Your accounting stays where it is.

We serve customers in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada, Germany and the US.
Every wrap you stop pricing by hand is an hour back for the fleet jobs that pay most.

How accurate is a vehicle wrap cost calculator?
Close enough to buy on. The calculator on this page prices a made-up shop's wraps from real pricing tables: the vehicle, the coverage, the design and the turnaround. On a sign business's own website it runs on that business's own rates, so the customer sees its real price. The odd jobs, like a lifted 4WD, an old wrap to strip or a full custom design, are the part a shop still quotes by hand, usually after a call.
Can my sign business put a calculator like this on its own website?
Yes. With SwiftSignQuote your customers pick the vehicle, coverage and film on your own website, see a price, upload artwork and pay or send it through as a quote. The price tables behind it are calibrated for you during onboarding, and they are yours to adjust after go-live.
